DECEMBER 17 1948. Srs. made ribbon and pinwheel cookies and Himmelsfutter. School out early. Cleaned up my lab. Tired so took nap 6:30. Wrote and mailed out some of our "Christmas circulars". Hans took me to Gotham. Waited 3/4 hr for 1949 Hans in to see Dr. Weston, on acct. headaches - maybe eye strain. I baked oatmeal cookies, wrote letters and cards, to P.O. twice. Made holly wreath and mistletoe from Oregon (yesterday) for front door. 1950. I took Mrs. Hallock to church. 100 at S.S. Frank left for Rockford about 3. 23 Christmas cards so far. Read in "Going to Jerusalem". 1951. Slept AM and PM! Helps fight off flu aches. Several inches more snow. K. came in eve and printed many copies of our last year's window scene. I walked to P.O. in P.M. Got big box holly and mistletoe for Oregon [illegible]. 35 degrees 1952. Got box mistletoe and rose hips from Oregon cousins. Washed and hung whites and towels outside. Baked bread, did up my rayon curtains, 3 rugs. Walked to Sig's to see her 2 trees.
