December 30

1948 Hans up for first time this week but back in bed in eve. I ironed, cleaned up house. 23 here for (Jan.) Woman's Club in eve. I showed pics. Mrs. Hozard + sister guests.Carrie W. + Gusta Kruse sewed. Assisted by Bernadine + [Lanona?]
40º 1949. Baked bread, shopped, hemmed my towel of Danish linen. Needlepoint. Frank here all day, sleeping + reading.
1950. Baked 5 loaves bread, oatmeal choc. chip cookies. Got 2 books from library. K + her dad worked on darkroom wall. Finished K's Christmas apron.
1951. Awake 3 to nearly 6 - Hans + I drove to S.S. I had Harry Joyce's class of girls - Helaine M., Bonnie M, Donna Racooli, Susan Groth, Kay Shafer. Called briefly on Esther K in P.M, then on Verma Voth. Read in "Age of Faith" in eve.
1952 Sure glad we made Muscatine trip on Sunday! Worked on payroll book, etc. here + at office 3 1/2 hrs. in all.  Anna May down a while - viewed my string of cards, 138 now. Frank helped me move my desk into nook. Sent K her box of dishes we forgot!
