December 31

DECEMBER 31
1948. Cleaned up house again. Shopped for double weekend. Hans stayed in bed + had Dr. Allen come + give him medicine to hasten recovery from flu.
Drizzly. 1949. Hans + his mother + I went to Madison on 8:20 bus, back 12:30. I helped Hans get blue suit, his mother gray coat, myself a parasol. Hemmed Danish linen towel for Signe. Finished reading "Cheaper by the Dozen" by 11, some to Hans who has headache.
1950 Awake so much we didn't go to church, but to S.S. 87 there. Nap after dinner. We took Mrs. Lloyd's plant to Lee Lange. at Meth. hospital. Re read all of [?] out of Time. Asleep by 11. 
1951. Didn't sleep till after 1. Had to take a phenylbarbital. Slept part of AM+PM. At noon got groceries at Kroger [?] Leone is the chm. of guild turkey dinner. I saw Wm. Zurfluh about turkeys. Made several phone calls about our guild dinners. Went to bed around 10.
1952. Felt so good I cleaned the apt, put some things away. Worked 3 hrs. at office in P.M. and most of evening on my federal income tax (till 12!)
