January 2 1917. Mamma and I put in Dora's brown and blue wool comfort and quilted on it our spare time. 1918. Typed Buttermilk story to send off. A mild day. Wore sweater to town in P.M. when I went down to buy red necktie material to go with new flowered white wool shirt I cut out and started to make for August. Also cut off pattern for it. Finished ironing. Letters from Helen, Aunt Minnie, Uncle John, and August. Card from mamma in also. 1919. Cold. Finished ironing and did mending, mostly for August. Baked bread and bread + sponge cake. Bernice's guest, Agnes Ringheim, here for dinner. Walked down for mail in P.M. Hans came home for late supper, after being out two days. Crocheted a little on Helen's medallions. Card from Edith B. Her mother sick. 1920. -4°. Hans went to his folks on 10:40 train, to stay with them till we can get on our farm. I finished Hilda's dress. Mamma sewed. I washed woolens, embroidered on Helen's collar. Got photo of Will and Herbert Eder. 1921. 30° in morning. We went in bobsled in the mud to Hans' folks for roast goose dinner. Adela came back with us to stay and go to school. Wrote long letter to mamma. Hilda has cut her daily milk portion down from 4 to 3 bottles.
