March 27 1917. Train 2 hrs. late. Went to Reynolds, Ill. Had fine attentive intelligent audiences of 50 women in fine Methodist church. Talked half hour in forenoon, gave demonstration after noon. Went to Rock Island with County Agent Edgerton to catch first train. 1918. Washed- so much I had to finish after dinner. Finished hemming curtains. Mrs. Prof. Reese brought her sewing over to visit a while. Went down town in evening in Ford with Hans. 1919. Sent letter to Anna, and cards to Amanda, Sis, Helen, Herman and Allan. Lacked ambition to accomplish much. Mended hose more than an hour, finished crocheting bib, with blue edge. Cloudy day. 1920. baked bread; Hans and I cut up hog, and I fried out some lard; in evening Ferd helped us finish cutting it. I put bacon down in brine. Letter from Bertha Goldsberry + A. Bess Clark (in Alabama). Adela helped with housework. 1921. We took Hans' folks to Olga's for Easter Sunday dinner. Windy- Hilda helped Velma and Oskar hunt colored Easter eggs. Helena came back with us, as she has vacation.
