June 15 1917. A heavy frost. I baked bread again, a bigger batch, which seems very necessary. Hans asked me to go thru his trunk, which I did, also "helped" him with the posts. In the evening we went with Mr. + Mrs. Day to Becker's. 1918. Planted nasturtiums. Cleaned our bedroom, changing furniture about. Very hot. Baked wheatless cake. Went to rural school graduation at Univ. 125 in class. Wrote "Co-operation in Cutting College Costs" for an Every Week contest, and typed it. We watered garden nearly five hours. 1919. Hot. Cooked a kohlrabi 12 inches around. Read. Hilda went to sleep a little before midnight. We fixed up our vines. Shasta daisies begin blooming. 1920. Finished washing before eleven. Sprinkled some. I made Hilda little woolen vest from dress she had worn sleeves out of. Did quite a lot of mending. Letter from Myrtle Nelson. Announcement of birth of John Raymond Fitzgerald. 1921. Helped iron. Went to Guild at Theodore Miller's with Lafe Scotts'. Nearly 40 women there. Minnie kept Hilda at home. John Scotts' brought us home. Had first Juneberries for supper.
