October 23 1917. Ironed some, baked bread. Mrs. Hangen called. I went to Red Cross, after missing three times. Sewed on muslin bed shirts. Had letters from Herman, Margaret Fitzgerald, and Artie Niles. 1919. Mrs. Keith stayed till P.M. train. I baked bread, sewed on my waist, cleaned and pressed trousers for Hans. Wrote circle letter. and to Hazel. 1920. A rainy morning and we got up late- 6:30. I made tomato catsup canning 1 bottle; made buttermilk pie; mopped only kitchen; cut out and made two pairs of Eden cloth panties, making buttonholes and all on machine, as Julia showed us. 1921. A beautiful October Sunday. Hans had to clean milker engine, making us late choring. Signe in her swing jumper for first time- took to it like a duck takes to water. Wrote circle letter.
