November 29 1917. Thanksgiving Day. Gave upstairs a thoro cleaning, did a bit of ironing. Miss A. Bess Clark came from Chisholm on the 4:00 P.M train. We had roast goose, Scotch dressing, peas, celery, cucumber pickles, wild strawberries, mashed potatoes, gravy, white & rye bread, and pumpkin pie with whipped cream. Homemade butter. 1918. Did some cleaning up. Finished my white striped silkwaist. Margaret sick with sore throat but went home with her father in P.M. I also have sore throat which makes me feel bum. I bought me new blue wool for dress in A.M. Walked to library and P.O. in P.M. Hans out late showing pictures. 1919. I washed. Amanda helped Mrs. Crawford instead us. Hans and I packed some more. It goes much more slowly than we expected. A windy, snowy P.M. 1920. Finished the ironing and did the mending. Made myself brown gingham apron, fudge apron style, and cut out and started a blue and checked apron for Hilda. Misty and gray weather again. Missed my usual nap. 19
