DECEMBER 12 1917. Had sick headache in morning. Darned 2 pr. hosiery, started to make crochet edge on a flaxon h'dk'f. Stormoen butchered Sambo for us - while below zero in P.M. While Hans helped, I kept Assembly for last two periods. Wrote to Flo. We went to church supper and sale. 1918. Ironed more than two hours, did some mending, baked white and graham bread. Mild day, muddy outside. Made set of ecru crocheted skirt hangers. 1919. Hilda cross till her cab got out to Elmenhurst at 3:30 P.M. I wore Helen's dress, not having my trunk. We are tired from our trip. I visited ruins of the burned farm, and buildings boys are putting up. I got a cold in P.M. Got letter from Hans and wrote to him. 1920. Up at 5. We started at 7:35, stopped at Elwood for gas and new radiator hose, and got to the folks' in Davenport about 11. They have a nice home. Visited. went to see Hilda's great grandmother little while. Gave her h'dk'f for birthday. Stayed all night. Fine mild day. 19
