JANUARY 5 Mrs. Keyes taught my class at S.S. Made two pies. Signe + Hans took Benskin + Miss Lastina to farm, + duck dinner at Grandma Skott's. Finished arranging for first of Epworth hot lunch. [- a P.T.A. project Managed to sleep, but was very weak all day. Children took lunch to school. Hans left for Waukon in morning. Foggy day. Another fine sunny day. Baked bread and beans, made scrapple, etc. Worked on run + quilt. Called on Mrs. Finkelson, (icy walking). Drove McJ for groceries and cash. Attended organization mtg. of joint Missionary Societies at Trousdale. Turned down Nom. Comm. choice of me for Pres. Froze a little We did ironing. In P.M. I drove in to Quisling Clinic - napped while waiting for my doctor's brother to give me "shot". Crocheted, read.
