JANUARY 12 1936. 91 at S.S. Mrs. Hawkins a new one in my class. After dinner Violet Braessel, Bessie Briggs, Frances Bradley & Mrs. Ross went into Dubuque with me to S.S. Council mtg at Pres. church, then to Cong. church to see stage & new part of church. Streets sloppy. 1937. Finished ironing. A sunny week thus far. Walked to Carl Maxwell's on P.T.A. business, then at Schwendiger's for Farm Bureau lesson on Fitting. Children all at b.b. game 1938. Sore throat, turning acute in eve. Luckily had gargle & lozenges -- That, with girls having to study, kept us from Trousdale membership supper. Wrote Pauline and Hans. Frank got out his skis. 1939. 29°. About an inch of snow in night. Letter from Elsie Studied last chapters in "Moving Millions" & gave review at Missionary mtg at Wolfe's in eve. 17 there. Streets icy. 19
