JANUARY 13 Zero. took grist to mill at 8:30, ordered a slay; cooked 3 gal. cocoa at school for 46 children's hot lunch. Called on Mrs. D.M. Wright & Ethel Scott. At Eve Wilkinson's in eve at Irmscher auxiliary. Bess K went with me. Baked bread, mended. Went to Lillian Maxwell's then drove on icy paving to Wayne Silker's for Ladies' Aid mtg. Bazaar netted $196. I was lucky (?) to get the dime in my cookie. Slept till 10:30 & felt better. Finished reading "Wind from the Mts." Wrote Beatrice, 7 & Hans Sewed on quilt. 31° More snow. Made several lb. lard. Friday the 13th -- unlucky in having to wait several hours for Dr. [I.?] -- & got parking ticket ($1 fine).
