JANUARY 24 1936. Even state car wouldn't start & Hans went to Dubuque on bus. Wrote "Garden of Dreams" for Garden Club, letter to Dora 1937. 10°. Snowy morning. Walked to S.S. 48 there. Only 1 in my S.S. class Signe at Warton's for dinner. Wrote to Dora. At Newt Maxwell's in eve with Hans & Frank. 1938. Rain all night turned to snow all day with plenty of high wind. Very slushy. Finished crocheted edge on one pillowcase. 1939. Play practise here in eve. More snow. Took girls in, then Signe & I ironed then went in to hear & see Mrs. Bloodgood give talk & movies on Switzerland also Scotland & Oxford. I was Mrs Robert's guests at social Union lunch 19
