JANUARY 25 Signe's cow Anna had twin calves, which died. Finished K's jumper, then in late P.M. called on Mrs. Reeder about Garden Club & [illegible] play. Gave Jennie Whitsell song. First day in 4 above zero, only for a short time. Finished my smock, mended. Took a hypodermic injection of still stronger medicine. Hans & I at Carl Maxwell's trying to wangle a bathroom from him Went to Madison at schooltime. Very cold, 6°, and high wind. Got papers for Hans' auto license, which they wouldn't give me. Finished the ironing baked raisin bread and gingerbread. 4° up to 7°. Signe home all day as no exams. I mended, crocheted made Sears' order. Got Nov. expense check at last & card from Hans. Practised play in costume -- I in Hans' shirt & trousers & Mr. Zentner's coat & vest
