Signe's pullets begin laying FEBRUARY 5 Hans took Bill Byer to farm and he began caring for our herd. 1936. Baked 2 cakes -- 1 for banquet which men of church served to the Mothers and Daughters. I talked on "Daughters of Yesterday and Today" 1937. Did a little extra cleaning, made chocolate angel roll. At Bess Kennedy's for first time in long time. Wrote Don. Girls beat Farley pub. school again in B.B 1938. While Hans [set?] Frank and Kathryn at hauling water out of the cellar. I washed, baked bread, mended a bit; Hilda baked pineapple upside down cake. Signe made herself slip, blouse, collar, etc these 3 days. Very icy, but rain over night cleared ice from paving. 1939. To S.S. then kids went to Middleton church. Mrs. Kirkpatrick invited me to dinner & P.M. there to plan missionary work. Took nap. Came home with our kids from E.L. Read in "Martin Johnson - lion hunter" 19
