MARCH 9 Washed, even a blanket getting dry outdoors. Hans brought half a hog from farm - 110#. Had charge of program at Irmscher Aux. at Lillian Maxwell's. Girls helped me finish ironing. Hans to Maquoketa to see Earl Boyer - his job again in danger, tho Mr. Peevey plugging for him. Last B.B. game - class t. Finished reading "Gone With the Wind" Hans left for Washington, D.C. on 8:40 train, going in with girls. I baked new chocolate cake + raisin bread. Pauline + I at Mrs. Backen. [Illegible] in P.M. She slept with me instead of Signe. Finished my rug, typed copies of songs for "Mother-Daughter" banquet. Wrote Pauline. K sent birthday card to Rita.
