MARCH 10 1936. Very warm. Ironed and mended, canned 4 qt pork + made gal. of lard. We drove to Guttenberg in eve to declam. contest, but were too late to hear Hilda, who went with Mrs. B. + Mr. Walker. 1937. Baked bread + cookies + mixed small batch of sausage. Missed aid at Edna Maxwell's. Wrote peace letter to Farmer's Wife. (Later got 3 [illegible]) 1938. Waited at clinic an hour to get my report which was: I need tonsils out but not till I get system strong enough. Anemic - very low iron content, also sugar + albumen in urine. Made ice cream for supper. Pauline + I window shopped. 1939. Typed more songs, made veg jello ring (which appeared on speakers' table) K + Hilda went with me to the banquet as toast master, I introduced Mesdames Hughes, Powell, Chase, Barber, Roberts, Eaton, Frye + Alice Laptad + play "His Little Ones" 55th 19
