March 27 Sweeping, baking, etc. Finished reading "The Great Trek" of reindeer 1000 miles from Alaska to Canada. Snow in lane yet. Car parked by road. Left washing for girls to finish while took Frank to have a tooth filled at Dyersville. I also had an old abcessed root pulled. Put new trimming on my hat, ironed. Finished "Great Impersonation". Packed picnic lunch & after S.S. & Morning [Star?] we and Elsie went to Vilas Park for first picnic of the season. Saw monkeys, etc., inside bldgs. yet. Took Elsie to 12:50 bus for St. Paul. Hilda & K went on hike with 7 other girls. I finished [1st?] typed copy of my radio broadcast. 9 Hans went to Tomah. I washed—too chilly to hang outside. Slept an hour. 9
