May 11 1936. Cut out Kathryn's green rayon dress & smocked one sleeve & made skirt. Hans up part of day. We went to doctor's, & I drove to Dyersville for medicine for him. 1937. Hans & I left at 10 for Des Moines, our last trip in State Car. Hans rec'd many congratulations on new job. Saw Feaney, Curran, Ray Murray (downtown) & spent nite with Edith Whitson. 1938. Got nothing done. Went to Madison with girls, sent letters to Hans & Pauline, paid some of Signe's tuition, went to Univ. Ext. library for her, came out on Middleton bus. Indigestion. Finished mending. Letters from Hans, Velma, Amanda, 7. 1939. Baked gingerbread & bread Wrote Dora & Hans' mother Enameled kitchen cabinet jade green. Furnace fire in eve. To Missionary mtg. in eve at Mrs. Wolf's. Took Mrs. Swadley & Lippitt. Reports from conventions. 19
