May 13 1936. Made slip, & cut out maize net dress. Sewed till my shoulders ached, then took slip to Pauline's for hemstitching top. Presided at Ladies' Aid business mtg. at Wilkinson's. 1937. Ach-y & good for nothing. Can't get rid of cold. Pauline came & helped finish cutting of flares for girls' dresses. Took her home at 11. Slept an hr. in P.M. Hilda's final try-on in eve. Hans & new inspector W.J. Melloy out together. 1938. Got my room straightened up, & polished furniture. Girls brought Frank home from Waubeesa. Couldn't start car in eve for girls to attend Sr. class play. 1939. I did the Sat. A.M. work—mopping, vacuuming rug, baked pies, etc. while K & Frank rolled tennis court. Took roller back, to Middleton for groceries. Planted a dozen asters & helped with row of strawberry plants Hans got at Mauston. Very tired.. Hilda home all day sewing 19
