May 15 1936. Hans not getting over bronchitis & sinus infection very fast. Violet Broessel here in P.M. also Mr. & Mrs. Warton. 1937. Ironed to get Hans ready for 2 wks'. trip in Nebraska. Took Signe to Dyersville at 10 for fillings. 16 girls here at 4H club in P.M. Pauline demonstrated cookies & orange cake. 1938. 4 girls in my S.S. class—Ruth Laman, Mary Horswill, Marian Coates, & Winifred. Frank & I got Grace & Ruth Kirkpatrick, who went out for dinner with us. Took them home at 3 when girls went to EL district conv., at Trousdale. Called on Hadley's—Mary home from hospital. 1939. Wrote Olga's, Amanda's, Velma's, Adele's, & Hans' folks to come Sunday. Went with Hans & helped select new [V?]. H Ec. Club at Vaughan's in P.M. "Homemakers' Hobbies". Set out more aster & strawberry plants. Got chicken for Guild dinner. 19
