May 25 1936. Huge washing. Pressed Hans' suit, packed, left at 2 for Waterloo. At Mike Kelly's an hour then to Waverly where we stayed over night in "Green Gables" 1937. Sewed double ruffles on 2 blue rayon dresses, darned, washed kitchen windows, set out more plants. Sent a Commencement invitation to Dr. Townsend! 1938. Ironed till cord burned! Finally cleaned out middle part of my desk. Letter from Hans, card from Velma. Baked 2 cakes & bread. K. took her last exams. 1939. Ironed, cut out & sewed on skirt for Kathryn's graduation dress. Frank & I put in 2 rows of sweet corn. We went to Trousdale choir & orchestra concert in eve. Letter from Helen, Hans called at Hadley's. 19
