June 16 1936. Left in forenoon with Hans for 4 days. 'Over new "Skyline Trail" in Dubuque Co; called on Mrs Felder in Guttenberg; checked pumps at Clayton, etc., Lunched at North Buena Vista along Miss R. Camp at [illegible] 1937. Baked bread. Had to borrow money to keep Hans + farm going. Went to W.H.M.S. at Mrs. Wilkinson's Election. Sewed on my quilt. 1938. Some cleaning, overcasting seams on readymade garments + a nap killed the day. K. baked bread. Signe finished blouse in eve. Mrs. Smith here- 1939. Coldpacked 10 1/2 qt. K picked 31 qt. made 17 pt preserves. + had dental work. I took her in, + was at MacKenzie's an hour. Very hot wind 92°. Sent Mrs. Reeder a letter. 19
