June 21 19 Baked loganberry pie, & esc. corn. We picnicked with Hans' folks Father's Day & his 70th birthday. At Buckhorn Church in P.M. for Buckhorn Centennial & 2" reunion of B. school. Frank home after a month at farm. 19 Began series of Japanese pictures at Bible school. Cut out blue lawn dress & sewed. Pauline's strawberries I planned to buy were flooded away. Flood at Dyersville [last?] eve. 19 Packed. Ate in 3 states. Hans, Frank & I left soon after 8 on a week vacation. Stopped at Swiss church in New Glarus, at cheese shop near Monroe. Ate dinner with Jay Whitson in Sterling, Ill. Crossed Miss R. at [Clinton?]; saw colicky Janet Aude at farm, also 2 day old [illegible]; ate supper with Velma in Baldwin. Called on Hans Jorgenson's. Slept at Hans' folks. 19 Showers interfered with berry picking. only stemmed 28 qt. made 2 pt preserves with lemon. Took Mrs. Kelly & Lois to cooking school in P.M; varnished edge of dining room [illegible]. To Rabe's in eve where she & I cut 18 prs. of pillowcases, with her pinking shears. Letters from Hilda & Pauline. 19
