JULY 20 1936. Hard rain and a little hail about 6 A.M. Hans and I attended funeral ceremony in St. Marys Cathedral, Dubuque, for Senator Louis Murphy, killed Thurs in auto accident. 1937. Card from Signe at Clear Lake. Baked bread, cleaned my desk. Wrote to Beatrice, Edith Whitson, Helen, "Reno". Dressed a hen - Letter from Herman. 1938 Needed jacket at 5 when I picked 3-1/2 qt. berries. We all went to Madison - "Rummage Sale". Shopped - got my Heathershaw dress, etc. Got ticket for parking overtime! Shortened my dress. Telegram from Hans. Cooler. We took vegetables to Kiddie Kamp. 1939. Ironed, made an apple pie and berry jelly. Got Sig at 1:30, then went to Trousdale at 3, from where Rev. S.J. Lambright, Mrs. Swodley and Mrs. Keyes rode to Mrs. Bentley's cottage on Waubees Beach for L.A. picnic. Grand place. 19
