Hans and I shopped in Dubuque in A.M. Made shirt in P.M.

19 Baked birthday cake for Pauline which we served at 4H club mtg here in P.M. Signe demonstrated pea canning.

19 Up to 72° only - Had 3 in my class - 36 at S.S! No church. Warton's at Clear Lake. Letters from Hans and Mr. Sperley and card from signe. Wrote Hans and Dora. Sunny but very windy and chilly. Had first sweet corn.

19 Frank my only forenoon helper for rest of summer. He picked and I canned 4 qt. beans and 1 of pickled beans. I picked and canned 2 qt. berries, made berry-apple jelly and some jam. Wrote Hans.

19 Kathryn sick from too much sweet corn. Wrote Hans and Miss A. Letters from Hans, Hilda and Dora. Went after Sig for a special C.E. mtg. but she couldn't come. Visited at MacKenzies. Guild in P.M. Annual election - they elected me sec!
