JULY 26 1936. S.S. at 9 - much better. Up to 106° in P.M. South wind a hot blast. Hans went for Kathryn in eve after a month at Buckhorn. 1937 60° in morning. K and I cleaned up some in attic. Miss Gertrude brought Signe home from Clear Lake at noon. Crocheted on rug. Wrote Mr. Sperley we will take his place. 1938 Sent vegetables to Kidde Kamp. Washed and then came a shower. Frank and I went to his S.S. Class party at Wendell Kirkpatrick's. I visited with his mother. We called at Barber's and at Roberts'. Mr. R. gave me a rock from Door Co. - Sturgeon Bay. 1939. Very hot. Had bad backache. Did washing. Rested all P.M. and finished reading The Forty Days of Musa Dagh. Took Kathryn to farewell party for Ann and berries to Utter's. A 5 min. shower for once. Had first cabbage. 19
