AUGUST 9 1936. Baked esc. potatoes, etc. for dinner. We and Riley's left about 10 for the Caves Park; had picnic dinner there. Went to farm. Hans' folks, Maquoketa and dam at Dubuque. At Paulines' in eve. 1937. Wrote Flo and Rural Rambler. Made 2 qts. applebutter and 3 glasses jelly. K and F began potato digging. Signe washed. 8 at Irmacher Auxiliary in eve - picnic supper in Maxwell's yard. They gave tall pottery as farewell gift. 1938. Ironed till about 2 P.M. Canned 2 qt. beet pickles - Wrote Zoa Murphy, Pauline and Florence. Phone put in. 19 Letters to August's, Mrs. Pendray, Erma Boyer. We did big ironing. Hans left for Merrill. I sent him his biggest check - $233.33. Took mother Skott to get her glasses. She crocheted me a nice piece for rocker. 19
