AUGUST 19 7, read and wrote. 1936. Signe went over her 100 mark in canning, including some for Pauline. WHMS in church instead of at parsonage as Mr. Warton sick. Was on program twice. Surprise birthday gift for Bessie Briggs and refreshments. Rain 1937. Breakfast for 11, or "brunch" - fried chicken and waffles. Packed blue glass creamer and sugar and relish set and top-of-stove "Pyrex" for B and Oren. They left 4H mtg. at Pauline's. Doris and Rosella gave cookie dem. I wrote conclusion. Pot lunch supper. 1938. Up early. Hilda took Frank and K to Dentist Sullivan. I finished cleaning downstairs - At noon Hans' father, mother, Velma and Paul came. I had made 2 apple pies. Very hot in P.M. Melba also came. Hilda took them sight seeing. 1939. Had 2 hr. painful waking spell at 3:00 A.M. Canned 1 qt. each applesauce, juice and jam. Made buttonholes for K. Made red apron for Sig. Watered flowers. 19
