SEPTEMBER 11 19 Rain in night and a heavy one in P.M. and [illegible]. Again with help, I canned 16 qt. apples, 3 qt. grape conserve and 2 of apple butter. Baked bread. 19 Canned 3 qt. applesauce, 14 qt. tomato juice - making 46 this mo. Baked bread. Signe switched laundry operations to Sat. I ironed some; set out a lot of sedums and Canterbury bells in what I hope will be a rock garden. 19 3 in my S.S. class. Hans came home from Buckhorn in A.M. Wrote Dora, card to Flo. In eve we took little ride west, Signe driving. K and I beat Frank and Hans 2 out of 3 games of 500. Nice day. 19 Washed, Kathryn hanging, and canned 9 qt. peaches. As it rained, we got Hi Schoolers [illegible] of them. Letter from Hilda, Lu Forman [died?]. Wrote Anna Skott, and Pauline. Cards from Signe. 19
