SEPTEMBER 15 19 Rain in morning and heavy rain most of P.M. Canned 8 qt. apples, made 5 glasses jelly. [Ironed?] some. Got girls from Queen Esther meeting at Silker's. Hans and his mother home at 8. 19 Cloudy, chilly wind. Took Frank to Jackson Clinic for treatment for sore throat and tonsils. Hilda started at Madison Business College. Brot Frank home at noon, went back for girls. Traded crabapples for a boat ride (which we never got!). 19 Canned 4 qt. mixed vegetables (7 kinds) from our garden. Went to Ladie's Aid in P.M. at Mrs. Quam's, 1121 Erin. Mrs. Swodley and Mrs. Carnes went with us. Began crocheting buffet scarf - 2 cards from Hans, in Mich. 19 92°, Sig took girls in. I canned 4 qt. each of Snow and Greening apples, which Swingle's gave me, also 13-1/2 Qt. tomato juice. 19
