SEPTEMBER 18 1936. Chilly but sunny again. Canned 3 qt. grape applesauce. Made Kathryn 2 brassieres. Hans home late - I lay awake hours. 1937. Awake with indigestion 2 hrs or so. Made 4 qt. tomato-apple preserves (Signe earned tomatoes at Brandt's). We picked 2 bu. apples - but Taylor's picked more. Windy A.M. but warm enuf to be comfortable. 1938. Windstorm and hard rain all night. Mary Horswill only one in my S.S. class. Wrote Pauline. Haven't Hans' schedule so can't write him. Hilda led E.L., first regular fall meeting. 1939. Canned 14 qt. tomato juice and 2 qt. chili. "Haven't Hans' schedule so can't write him". Worked on review of "What do you Want for $1.98?" 19
