SEPTEMBER 24 1936. At Mrs. Keyes in A.M. and to Randall's in P.M., visit with Marian. Tried to arrange an exec. P.T.A. mtg - in vain. First frost. 1937. Nice rain most of forenoon. Dug a few more pictures out of trunk and hung them. Made ironing board cover, etc. Cooler. 1938. Hans finally sent me his schedule so mailed him card in eve. When Signe went for 9 o'clock German class, I went to Briggs' for 2 bu. apples and K to dentist. K trimmed cabbage and I made about 3 gal. kraut. Made yeast. Letters from Hans, Mrs. Pendray, Jennie Maxwell. 1939. All of us at S.S. church - 70 there. 6 in my S.S. class. Chicken for dinner, Amanda sent. Bob L here for tennis and supper. We all went to C.E. where Hans talked and Sig was leader. Have canned 102 qt. this mo. 19
