OCTOBER 3 Saturday baking and cleaning. Took Signe to Dyersville - [M?]. to have two teeth filled. She did her first driving coming home. Headache and eye-strain. Only girls went to S.S. and church. Canned 10 qt. whole grapes in juice and 5 pt. peaches. Baked beans. Supt. E.W. Breneman, Mrs. and boys here P.M. surprising us. Heard Peter [Prang?] of Hawaii at E.L. in M.E. church. Mailman brought pkg. laundry from Hans - I laundered 8 ruffled dining room curtains and washed windows. Baked cupcakes. Got 7 letter. Wrote Hans. Windy - washing done by 10. Ironed some. Went to Guest Day at Club with Mrs. Cornwell and Mrs. Kelley. Met Miss Dixon. 74°. Took K to choir practise. 2 letters from Hans. Wrote him.
