OCTOBER 5 Shower in morning - but cleared. Had McFarland phone put in. Signe canned 6 qt. peaches. Washed and ironed, mended and packed for Hans. Baked graham raisin bread, Mrs. G. making [loaves] for me, while Hans and I went to DeForest for glasses for him. Took him to McFarland to get his brakes lines. Large ironing with Hans' laundry and entry curtains. Gathered in 1/2 bu. Table Queen squash - K did other half and pumpkins. Chilly wind - 50°. Went to Missionary Society at church. Mrs. Eaton talked on children's work. Took up house plants. High wind. 2 letters from Hans. Finished typing and stapling 20 Guild books.
