1936. Nice day. At Bess Kennedy's in morning - at Pauline's in P.M. Got sweet potatoes there. 1937. Canned 2-1/2 qt grape conserve, made tomato conserve. Mixed pimento cheese for Mrs. Brandt. 1938. 60°. Made pumpkin pies, dressed chicken. Signe and I washed car. To Middleton in A.M. - Madison in P.M. Dove Co Federation of rural schools - Bought my red dress. Called at Hodley's. 1939. Frank took off about 75 lbs. honey, but bees stung Hans twice. Put my birthday money in at S.S. Sig brot me home. Ella Schmidt and sister called. Kathryn took us 25 mile drive. 19
