OCTOBER 14 1936. At Pauline's an hr. in a.m. Ladies' Aid at Mrs. Keyes' in P.M. Poured rain. Got girls from school. 1937. Varnished 2 chairs, table for flowers and fireless cooker. At Brandt's to "Mother's Recreational Club in P.M. Bunco and eats! Hans home by 6. 1938. Grand day. Ran to mailbox with letters, causing headache later. Mended 4 pr. panties, sewed on my nightgown. Letter from Peek home and E.S. Evans. Wrote Hilda and her grandma (in bed). Baked bread and beans for bake sale and Frank's Scout picnic. 1939. Turned Hilda's old brown coat into new one for Velma - all done except hem. Canned 5 qt. pears. Took strawberry preserves to Club sale. Frank put on storm windows, Velma washed windows outside. Ralph [Kirman?] and [Bollenbogh?] here. 19
