OCTOBER 16 1936. Cleaned up sewing machine. Picked wild grapes at Waechters. Shower in P.M. 1937. Baked bread. Took Frank in for guitar lesson. Huge homecoming crowd so came home promptly. To McFarland twice as Hans had work done on his car. Jay Whitson came in time for supper. Sat up late visiting. 1938. Summery day. Wore red bolero dress without coat. Put in birthday collection and talked on Premier Kung of China at S.S. Communion Sunday. Read while Hans monkeyed with old Dodge. Almost no furnace fire this month. Letter from Pauline. Canned 2 qt. pears. 1939. Shortened my tan coat 3-1/2 inches, hemmed Velma's. Sig dug dahlias - which did not bloom. Made jelly roll. To Home Ec. Club at Ann Emery Hall. Reception for Miss Zuill. Wealthy Hale showed films she took in Europe. 19
