NOVEMBER 5 1936. 26°. Made yellow tomato preserves, did ironing and most of mending. Called on Mrs. Thos. Hinde - her birthday! Hans brot a camera home from Ames - not [illegible]. 1937. Hilda at school in A.M. only, after I got our first Wis. licenses 15,031, we left at 11:45, reaching Epworth at 3:15. I went to pot luck supper at Mrs. Tom Brigs. Bingo party for me at Mrs. W.B. Miller's in eve. I won consolation! Took Pauline. 1938. Sunny but cooler. Had coal put in. Baked bread and walnut-topped cake. Put on 2 more storm windows. Frank and I went to Middleton. Had car bumper put on. Stored 30 gal. carrots Frank dug! Letter from Hans and Miss Clark, card from Pauline. 1939. Got breakfast for 5 as girls at Olga's overnight. To farm a while. 22 for grandma's birthday dinner. Left at 3:30, talked to Luella Ruff, Home at 7. House cold. 19
