NOVEMBER 8 "Peace Sunday" sermon had too much propaganda to suit me. Lillian Maxwell and I visited Miss [illegible] S.S. class. Girls at district E.L. mtg. here in P.M., supper and eve. Hilda on program. Hans at farm. Up at 3:30. Dark and had rained. Left Epworth at 4, Hilda driving most of way. Madison at 8. Paving wet, had hard rain here. After I brought Frank out, I took Signe's books, etc. in. To McF. then later got girls. Planted several rock garden plants from grandpa's garden. Washed, dried clothes in my nice basement. Dressed a chicken, sewed a little, took nap. Miss Sue Toepfer took me to Middleton to cast my first Wisconsin vote. Letter from Mrs. Reeder and Hans. Wis, Iowa and others went Republican. Clothes I hung outside froze. Very windy. Wrote Hans, Hilda and Dora. K stayed overnight with Ann MacK as both went to scholarship banquet last eve.
