November 11

NOVEMBER 11

1936. With Signe in Junior play given tonite for grade pupils, and K practising for Soph. play, hard to get chores done! I ironed, made sandwich spread of last tomatoes, mended.

1937. Ironing done before 9, even leftovers from last week. Both before dinner. Girls home for dinner, as no school in P.M. - Armistice Day. I went with Mrs. Voges to mothers' Club at Storck's in P.M. Bunco. Chicken soup - salad - cake. Mr. Sperley here.

1938. In bed all day. No mail. K and Frank home from high school at noon. F dug more carrots. K made bread - I put it into loaves. Made out long Christmas list. Wrote Hans. Sent Pauline card. Mr. Dahlk came for my old green range and woodbox.

1939. Coldest yet, 18° at 4:00 A.M. Went in when Sig went and got Velma's eyes tested. Saw Armistice Day parade. Baked raisin bread and choc. cake in P.M. Hemmed green dress for K, narrowed skirt for V. Wrote August's and Grace.
