NOVEMBER 24 Painted east half of dining room floor and am I ever tired? "Pinned" and cleaned a turkey. Got Pauline for P.T.A. in eve. Had women [illegible] grade children sing - but no Soph. play, no sec., no hot lunch. Candied a citron and preserved another (which Pauline had given me). Hilda finished her first exams and came home at noon. We drove in, she to "Dead End" and I to call on Emma and Mrs. Roberts, both expecting Thanksgiving guests. Thanksgiving. A spit of snow. Cold. I baked pumpkin pies, roasted chicken, etc. Hans came at noon, bringing a dressed goose, after month in Minn. I shortened Signe's light blue dress for Kathryn. Vegetables moved to basement. Took freshmen in to Univ. then Frank to High [illegible] and had winter oil put in. Wrote Grace and report of Home Ec. mtg. Collected 1.75 at Ph. Branch for Red Cross. Mrs. Zentner went with me along Lake and my starter stuck till Mrs. [Breem?] pushed. Rainy. Got girls.
