NOVEMBER 30 Very sore throat and cold - so am staying home this week, from board mtg. at church tonite. Did last week's mending. Cut out Hilda's plaid dress for bazaar. Took my car to Farley for repairs. 9° in morning, 20° at noon. Worked all day turning Hans' old overcoat for one for Frank, using brown suit for lining, Wrote Hans. Nice and sunny. [illegible] and Constance, to thank her for crocheted rug. Put on my bedroom storm window, wrapped hydrangeas, rosebush and spirea, then found I had a pleurisy pain. Baked bread and pumpkin pies, began crocheting for bazaar. Hans took me to Kalb to check my story. Gov. [Hieil's?] Thanksgiving Day. Hans got up early and connected Kathryn's radiator. I baked pumpkin pies, roasted duck, made cranberry relish, etc. To Madison in P.M. Velma got her glasses. Crowds shopping. No school. Mrs. Hallock and Dan here in eve.
