Very mild weather. DECEMBER 25 1936 Girls and I drove to Hans' folks for Christmas dinner. 19 there. Amanda's came on surprise visit. Hans gave me pyrex pie plate and sieve; Oskar, who drew my name, bath towel set; mother Skott, pink flowered apron. Signe and I stopped briefly at Ruff's. Kathryn went to Olga's for a few days. 1937. Met Helen at 8 A.M. Breakfast and dinner just the two of us. She brot me yellow bath towel set. Prof. and Mrs. Roberts, Velma and Mary Lou called. Helen and I called on Hodley's, drove to Nokoma and Sherman Ave. to see Christmas lights. Supper at 9 when folks got home. Amanda sent me bath towel, Olga pitcher, Velma pie dish, Pauline baking dish full of cookies. Played Bingo "a while". Tired. 1938. 16 of us for roast goose dinner at Hans' folks (I stuffed the goose, which Ande raised). Orville and I repeated last eve's record of continuous winning at 500. Hans has new deck from him. We came home at 7:30. We got very cold on back seat. Procknow's kept house nice and warm. 1939. 24 of us ate roast goose and duck at Hans' folks. I made veg. jello salad and creamed peas and cauliflower. Too busy to go to farm but Hans and Hilda sold 3 cows to Oskar and Orville. We left at 4, burned out heater. At Pauline's, Epworth. Home at 9:30. Marion Zeigler kept house warm. Very mild day. 19
