FANTASY FICTION TELEGRAM fangled can-openers sure are complicated. Where's Wilma? Dr. Huer: She went out for this mornings copy of "The Daily Universe." She ought to be back any minute. Wilma (entering): Here I am, fit as a fiddle and as empty as a bass drum. Get a load of this headline: "Astounding Finally Freed. Lost City Uncovered as Scientists drain Tremaine Sea." Cluck: Astounding! Why, I used to get my science fiction there way back in 1936 A.C. Wilma: A.C.? Cluck: Yes-- After Clayton-- Let's take a trip to Astounding and visit the ruins of "our magazine." Oh, Doo, have we paid the last installment on the rocket ship? You remember what happened to old Ophelia Dearhart when the Futuristic Finance Corporation caught up with her right in the middle of the Universe and took her ship away. Dr. Huer: It's all right. I sent the check yesterday. Cluck: But we have no bank account. Dr. Heur: That's all right--- they don't know that. Cluck: Then we're off! Voice in the Distance: You're telling me! Another V. in the D. : Quiet, Beetle! We're in the wrong studio. (Sound effects. Rapid trip through space. Then dull and splintering crash.) Wilma: Ouch! What a place to put a flag pole...... What's all this kindling wood for? Cluck: That's no kindling wood, that's the Astounding Building. Lets go in. (Foot steps accompianied by creaking sounds.) Be careful not to tread in one place too long or the floor will........... Wilma: Oh, Cluck! What's that horrible looking monster coming towards us? Cluck: Get out your disintegrators -- its (Page 8)
