The Iowan has always had them to fight and has never been entirely successful in the combat. Beginning with today's issue The Iowan management believes all difficulties in the way of deliveries will be vanquished. From the first of the year the management of the paper has realized that accurate delivery is imperative. Delivery to the men in the barracks depended in the last step on company sergeants. The carrier boys could take only the fixed number of papers to the company and distribution t the company and distribution to the rightful subscribers was of necessity left to these "non coms," who were supplied with lists of the subscribers in the company. With the men no longer in barracks this difficulty is removed. However, a large number of complaints which reach The Iowan business office come from men who have never notified the paper of their change from the old S.A.T.C. address. Just before the holidays the delivery system began to run more smoothly, but two weeks ago one carrier quit. The management scoured the town for a boy. Every boy who is the carrier of an evening city paper was interviewed, but most of them refused to carry a morning paper or their mothers refused to let them. After testing ten boys, one was chosen and he is now carrying the east route from which the majority of complaints have been registered. On his first delivery on the strange route, the new carrier missed but three papers out of 140. The Iowan delivery system has fallen down most miserably in one respect. That is to be remedied. Beginning today, a special delivery will be made to all houses from which complaints are filed. The Iowan is far from resenting complaints; it welcomes them heartily. Hereafter if you do not receive your Iowan before 10 o'clock in the morning, telephone the business office, 935, and your paper will be brought to you.
