Cotton must be given honorable mention for his work this year. Handicapped by size he was nevertheless able to score freely against the biggest guards in the west . Olson at center proved a reliable pivot man and made up for a slight weakness in hitting the ring, by a brilliant guarding game. Brown won a great reputation as a foul thrower in the conference. His tallies from the short line enabled the Old Gold to thrash several though opponents. In addition, teh stocky defense man passed swiftly and accurately and covered satisfactorily his men in all of the games this season. Nicholaus at the other defense position, played cool, heady basketball for his first varsity season and developed a fine eye for the hoop. In Kaufman, Worth and Finlayson, Coach Bannick had three reserves who were all but the equal of the regulars. They played excellent ball when opportunity offered Brown, Olson and Berrien have played thrir last game for Iowa, but Cotton, Nicholaus, Finlayson, Worth and Kaufman will be available next year. These men will form the basis of a strong Hawkeye quintet for 1920.
