PAGE SIX THE DAILY IOWAN STATE UNIVERSITY OF IOWA Sunday, March 16, 1919 DO NOT ASK FOR GRADES Owning to the multitude of unusual circumstances and demands upon the Registrar's office, during the whole of the fall term; to the fact that many members of the office staff were sick during extended periods of time during the fall term; and to the greatly increased work of the office consequent upon the subsitution of the term-division for the semester-division of the year as well as reports with special reference to the S.A.T.C. which have had to be made; it has been impossible for the office to post the first term's grades and to enter these in the students' records, as promptly as in former years. The result is that a very considerable number of such grades yet remaint o be posted and entered in the records. Until they are so treated it is extremely difficult to find a given student's scholarship record for the fall term. We therefore earnestly request all the students to refrain from asking for their grades until we can comply with their requests as indicated by stamped addressed envelopes left in the office, by mailing their grades. In connection with the spring registration, after the spring registration begins, we will, of course, be glad to give whatever information regarding the fall term's grades may be neccesary. With many thanks for the students' further co-operation in this difficult year, I am H.C. DORCAS, Registar Gertrude Kiser, sophomore, was called to South English on account of the illness of her sister. TRINITY LENTEN SERVICES Week-day Lenten services at Trinity Episcopal church, corner of College and Gilbert streets, are as follows. Daily at 7 a.m., holy communion; daily at 5:10, evening prayer. These services are held in the rectory west of the church, except the Friday afternoon services and the Wednesday night service at 7:30 which was held in the church. A piano and violin recital will be given by pupils of te school of music in Mrs. Anna Diller Starbuck's studio tomorrow afternoon at 4 o'clock. FROSH WIN NUMERALS Nine freshmen have been commended by H.H. Jones, athletic director, for basketball numerals. These men played on the freshman team, and will receive emblems for their academic work is kept up with the end fo the year. Following the list: John McConnell, F.J Shmek, A. Devine, Glen Devine, G.H Frohwein, Carl Lohman, Howard Barnes, A.H. Ehrsman, and G[illegible] Nagle. Mrs Nelli S. Aurner, dean of women, is ill at the Mercy hospital with a severe case of pleurisy. Get good clothes quality-it's the only way to save money. The war taught one lesson; that good quality is economy. People had to make their money do more; they found they couldn't afford poor quality; they couldn't take a chance; they bought good stuff because it saved. Don't forget that lesson: it still holds good-buy clothes of good quality; they cost less because they last longer. We back this up with a money back gurantee. Waist-seam and fancy back models have taken the country like the Yanks took Chateau Thierry IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THEM YOU OUGHT TO SOON.
