AUDITORIUM PHILOSOPHERS CLOSE TWO DAY'S PROGRAM Western Association Delegates Given Luncheon by Dean and Mrs. Seashore Luncheon given by Dean and Mrs. Carl E. Seashore yesterday noon closed the convention of the Western Philosophical association which has been holding meetings here the last two days. Professors interested in psychology and philosophy in colleges and universities of the middle west from Ohio and Michigan to the Rocky Mountains have been in attendance and taken prat in the programs. Philosophy in reconstruction was the general subject of their discussions. The morning session yesterday began with a paper, "Philosophy and the International Mind," by H.M. Kallen of Boston. The rest of the program was as follows: "The Two Ideals" by M.C. Otto; "The General Will' by E.H. Hollands; "Plural Sovereignty," by Norman Wilde; and "The Unit of Civilization," by J.H. Bodwin. Officers were elected for the ensueing [sic] year: president, Norman Wilda of the University of Minnesota; vice-president, J.H. Boodwin, Carleton college; secretary and treasurer, Edward L. Schaub, of Northwestern university. The next session of the Association will be in Madison, Wisconsin. TEN ENTER FOOLS' JUBILLEE Organizations Prepare for Fun Making Saturday Night The University organizations are making arrangements to put on stunts at the All-Fool's jubilee April 26. Hesperian, Athena, Whitby, Erodelphian, and Irving literary societies, the Women's league, Theta Sigma Phi, and I.W.A.A. have signified their intention of contributing to the program. Philomathean and Octave Thanet will have a joint performance. Other organizations may enter by informing Ruth Jones or Charles Martha of their intention by Thursday April 24, Tryouts will be held April 25 with three faculty men as judges. The All-Fool's jubilee this year is managed by a committee of eight members, Ruth Jones, Mary Anderson, Magdalene Grimm, Kathryn Dayton, Charles Maruth, Bruce Townsend, W.D. Nutting, and L.J. Heartlein. It is instituted by the Y.M. and Y.W.C.A. Artie Hekel, sophomore, is spending the week end at her home in Independence. Wilson Crary, freshman, is spending a few days at her home in Grundy Center. A joint meeting of the advisory board and the old and new cabinets of the Y.W.C.A. will be held Monday at 4:30 in room 116 of liberal arts building. The annual report of the year's work will be given. Mrs. J.J. Lambert, the new chairman of the advisory board, will preside. Phi Rho Sigma entertained at a dance at Reichardt's pavilion Saturday evening. Dr. and Mrs. R.E. Russel were the chaperons. SOCIETY AND PERSONAL The first formal Triangle club party since the war will be held Wednesday, April 23, in the Triangle club rooms. Mrs. C.M. Wells visited her son Earl at the Sigma Phi Epsilon house Thursday. Lorena Meek of Elgin is visiting Myrtle Wood at the Delta Zeta house this week end. Esther Shaw, sophomore, is entertaining her mother Mrs. E.M. Shaw of Wellman for a few days. Enola Smith, freshman, is visiting at her home in Belle Plaine this week end. Mary Martin, Gamma Phi Beta, is in Des Moines for a few days this week on account of the illness of her grandmother. Mary Mathewson, freshman, is at her home in Muscatine this week end. Nu Sigma Nu entertained at a dancing party at the Burkley Friday evening. Col. and Mrs. Morton C. Momma were the chaperons. Bath Wellman went to Wellman Thursday to attend the funeral of an aunt. Ila C. Jones, freshman, is spending the week end at her home in Williamsburg. Ruth Smith, Tri-Delt, will enter school again Monday. Miss Smith has been doing work at the State house in Des Moines for the past quarter. Dorothy Gage of Sabula is visiting the Game Phi Beta house for a few days. The Girls' swimming meet has been postponed to Wednesday evening, April 30. The reason for the change in date is the Glee club concert on Wednesday April 23, which was the date originally decided upon. Jeanne Lees, instructor of physical education, will meet her classes again Monday morning after an absence of two weeks on account of illness. Sigma Pi announce the pledging of John J. Potter of Waterloo. Pearl Powers of Currier hall is spending the week end at her home in Waterloo. The dramatic action class of the department of public speaking presented "The Neighbors" before the University club Saturday evening. Lieut. and Mrs. Ralph Winsler are visiting Prof. and Mrs. G.G. Benjamin. Lieut. Winsler was a student here last year. Mrs. Winsler is better known as Octavia Belour and was a freshman dental student here in 1916. Edith Dixon Leopold and Dorothy Turner, Delta Gammas, are spending the week end in Burlington. Grace Meyers Hamilton of Winterset, Lucile Jasper of Newton, and Mary Dallas of Mechanicsville are visitors at the Alpha Xi Delta house this week. J.M. Van Houten of Ames is visiting Earl Hall at the Sigma Nu house. Mr. Van Houten attended Sigma Delta Chi initiation and banquet here Thursday evening. Mary Rider of Muscatine, student in the University last year, is spending the week end in Iowa City. Florence Fisher, Gamma Phi Beta, is visiting at Ames this week end and attending the Pan-Hellenic dance there Saturday evening. Chaperons at Varsity Friday evening were Dr. and Mrs. O.E. Van Doren, Dr. and Mrs. J. Ward, and Mr. and Mrs. Al Martin, Saturday evening the chaperons were Mrs. Ralph Howell and Mrs. Carl Brueckner. Gretchen Koenigsberger, junior, is spending the week end at Des Moines. Blodwen Williams, junior, is visiting at her home in Fort Madison this week end. Phi Beta Pi entertained at a dancing party at Majestic hall Friday evening. Dr. and Mrs. G.B. Jenkins were the chaperons. Margaret Proesttler is spending a few days at her home in Davenport. Alpha Xi Delta held initiation Thursday evening for the following: Mariam Roe, Cecile Cross, Blanche Miller, Frances Dearborn, Edna Price, Lorna Schuppert, Ethel Tiffey, and Lenore Osgood. Following the ceremony, Founders' Day was celebrate by a banquet at the Jefferson. Among the out of town alumnae present for the occasion were Grace Myers Hamilton, Mary Dallas, Lucile Jasper, Mary Kinnavery, Venita Koch, Gertrude Schafer, Della Shaefer Romine, [Ad] "I ALWAYS Pay My Debts!" Of all the Liverty Loans, this is the most important. We went in to win and to win quickly. We won. Now we have got to pay the bills. It means we must see the thing through—Uncle Sam's debt is your debt and my debt.
