Bowlsby PHI PSI IS HOST AT CONVENTION Chapters of West Will Hold Biennial Session Here This Week Iowa Alpha chapter of Phi Kappa Psi will be host at the biennial meeting of the fifth district council which convenes today for a three day session. The fifth district of the fraternity includes all chapters west of the Mississippi river with the exception of the Minnesota chapter. Deleates from these chapters will arrive today. Several of the fraternity's national officers, fifty delegates, and as many alumni will be present to participate in the business sessions of the fraternity which will be held at the chapter house. Aside from the routine matters of the program social diversions have been provided for the visitors which will include a smoker at the chapter house this evening, a dinner dance Friday evening with dinner at the hotel Jefferson and dance at the Hotel Burkley, and concluded Saturday night with a stag banquet and toast program at the Hotel Jefferson. This is the first district convention held at the local chapter house for twenty years. SENIOR WOMEN Senior women bring money, fork spoon and cup for picnic. Meet at Close hall at 10:45 o'clock this morning. In case of rain the picnic will be held in the womens gym. The Science club will meet in room 206 N. S. tonight at 8 o'clock. Esther Christensen will discuss "Friends of the Forest-Warblers." IRISH'S Business College Commercial Bank Building 205½ Washington St. Summer Session Classes Begin June 17, 1919 Registration Open until June 23, 1919 Instructions in the following Branches─ Gregg Shortland Pitman Shorthand Touch Typewriting and Bookkeeping SPECIAL COURSES Filing and the Dictaphone IOWA LEAVES FOR SOUTH BEND TONIGHT Ten Men and Coach Jones Depart For Two Games With Michigan and Notre Dame Ten men with Coach Jones will leave over the Rock Island at 7:55 this evening for South Bend and Ann Arbor where they will play return baseball games on Friday and Saturday with Notre Dame and Michigan universities. Both of these teams defeated the Hawkeyes a few days ago and now the Iowa nine is out to get revenge. It is considered likely that McIlree will pitch the return game against Michigan, although Coach Jones has not made final or definite selection. Hamilton will go against Notre Dame if this is the case and will work again the following Monday when the team plays Ames at Ames. The squad will go direct from Ann Arbor to Ames and will not return to Iowa City until after the Aggie game. Hamilton is looked upon as a likely choice to pitch against the Cyclones, also. The men making the trip are Captain Brown, Hamilton, McIlree, Belding, Crawford, Olson, Cockshoot, Goodwin, Ehred, and Irish. Let The Iowan be your letter. Let The Iowan be your letter. SENIORS─YOUR PICNIC? Senior women wishing to attend the all-Senior picnic will meet on the L. A. steps at 11:00 this morning. If the weather is bad the picnic will be held at the Women's gymnasium. SENIOR INVITATIONS LATE Because of a delay in ordering the senior invitations, it will be impossible to secure them before June 1. The exact date of their arrival has not been ascertained. TO INTERPRET MUSIC PLAYED BY SYMPHONY Mrs. E. D. Starbuck will play and explain several of the pieces, which will be played by the Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra Saturday, at the Dey building this evening at 8 o'clock. The public is invited to attend the interpretation. UNIVERSITY COUNCIL MEETS Every member is urged to attend the meeting and supper of the University council to be held at 5:45 this evening in the Congregational church parlors instead of the Commercial club rooms as previously announced.
